More Details?

Too much for one man
- Too Much Work For One? -
(TANGERINE,FL) In this day of Internet entrepreneurs it is hard to imagine that someone who actually does something can be a success. The Bike Detail is certainly one of those success stories. Harold Clayton, owner of The Bike Detail, after 3 years hard work, logging thousands of miles chasing cyclists and their tours is considering franchising his very unique venture.

Franchising? A bike cleaning service? Yep! Last year Harold tested the waters by holding a seminar on how he cleans bikes. Though confident that his reputation alone would attract more than a few dedicated cyclists he was quite surprised by the large crowd. In fact, as he proudly described the event to another curious cyclist, "I did not have to worry about an echo in that hall!"

Harold envisions certifying his franchisees. His 14-hour, 2-day program will cover all aspects of his detailing business. Leaving little to chance, not only will the potential franchises learn how to clean, they will even simulate dealing with tour directors: a particular strength of Harold's.

How successful is The Bike Detail. That may be difficult to say. However, Harold is well known in the bicycling tour community. Smaller tours have picked up Harold's lodging just to make sure he comes. In 2000, Harold expects to service 60 tours from Florida to Oregon.

No one can project what the corporate logo may be. Already the "golden arches" have been take by another rather successful business. Still one wonders if somehow that glistening brown head of Harold's can be worked in.
